Comet 29/P Schwassmann-Wachmann 1
This faint periodic
comet normally resides at about 15th magnitude. Once or twice a year it
undergoes outbursts and brightens by several orders of magnitude. This
sequence records such an outburst which started in mid-September 2004.
18th September - Comet undergoing an outburst. Has now brightened to tenth magnitude.
21st September - Coma now starting to appear.
7th October - Coma now appearing more fan-shaped
